Inspection includes:

• Complete 19 point inspection from the roof to inside the fireplace.
• We clean out the ashes from the firebox.
• Glass doors are cleaned.
• Estimates for any repairs are provided.

 

Cleaning includes:

• All items included in the inspection service listed above.
• Dust free chimney cleaning; the only thing that gets dirty is our sweep.
• We remove the damper when possible and make sure the smoke shelf behind it is cleaned of debris.  Most other companies don’t take the time to do this.  This service also ensures that the damper is working properly.
• Basement ash dump cleanout is an additional service.

Repairs:

• Repoint chimneys both exterior and inside the firebox (fix the mortar between the bricks).
• Line chimneys for furnace and hot water tanks.
• Install chimney caps and bird/squirrel screens.
• Replace concrete crowns (the top of a masonry chimney).
• Replace chase tops—in aluminum or stainless steel (the top of a chimney with siding).
• Replace gas log lighters.

 

Additional information:

• If we come to your house to clean your chimney and find it doesn’t need to be cleaned, we only charge for the inspection.  We do not do work that is not necessary.
• Our chimney sweep was professionally trained.  He went to school and passed national tests, which not only included chimney cleaning and repair information, but fire safety codes.
• We are fully insured and bonded.
